Day 1: Gulmarg Gondola

The Gulmarg Gondola stands as one of Gulmarg's prime attractions, renowned as the second longest and second highest cable car globally. Split into two phases, it transports around 600 individuals per hour to and from the Apharwat Mountain, the hub of winter sports in Gulmarg.

Phase 1 of the Gulmarg Gondola shuttles passengers from Gulmarg Resort to Kongdoori Station, marking the middle point. Starting at 2,990 meters and ascending 400 meters vertically, it carries 1,500 people hourly to a height of 3,100 meters, granting access to numerous easy skiing routes. Phase 2 links Kongdoori Mountain to Apharwat Peak, ascending 1,330 vertical meters to nearly 4,000 meters, with a capacity of 600 passengers per hour. Upon reaching the station, a 30-minute trek unveils the mountaintop, offering views of the Line of Control (LOC).

Day 2: Alpather Lake

Alpather Lake, nestled amidst the twin peaks of Apharwat in Gulmarg, earns its moniker as the Frozen Lake for its year-round icy cover from November to June. Renowned for a one-day trek starting from Gulmarg spanning approximately 13 kilometers, this high-altitude lake presents a breathtaking sight.

The moderately challenging one-day trek to Alpather Lake from Gulmarg follows the route through Gulmarg – Khilanmarg – Apharwat Ridge – Alpather Lake.
